Dr Anino Emuwa is the founder and managing director of Avandis Consulting, an international management consultancy firm providing strategy and financial advisory services to entrepreneurs and business leaders. Dr Emuwa, who started out her career as a corporate banker at Citibank, is an expert on financing entrepreneurship and is an award-winning advocate for diversity in business leadership and in emerging technologies.
Dr Emuwa convenes several professional communities for women including Women@Davos, Women @ UNGA and the Africa Women CEOs Network, and is an executive strategist working with top female business leaders. Dr Emuwa hosted the first inclusive International Women Business Leadership event in Davos alongside the World Economic Forum in January 2020. She also mentors and coaches high-achieving women entrepreneurs for Cartier Women’s Initiative and the University of Cambridge Judge Business School’s EntrepriseWOMEN programme.
Dr Emuwa is an international public speaker on entrepreneurship, fintech innovation and gender diversity in leadership, and has spoken at global conferences and prestigious institutions including the University of Cambridge, London School of Economics, Forbes, ING Belgium, Web Summit Money X, Facebook, French National Assembly and TechPark Davos.
Dr Emuwa’s articles have appeared in international publications including Forbes, Entrepreneur, Business Chief Middle East and Africa and Global Banking and Finance Review. Dr Emuwa is an experienced non-executive director and sits on the board of several small and medium sized companies. She is a Grant Advisory Committee member of the Sustainable and Inclusive Digital Financial Services supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Dr Emuwa obtained her Doctorate in Business Administration from Nottingham Business School where she is an alumni fellow. She also holds an MBA from Cranfield School of Management, a BSc Economics from the London School of Economics and is undertaking a Masters in Entrepreneurship at Cambridge. Dr Emuwa is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a member of the Institute of Directors. She has lived and worked in six countries in Europe and Africa, and is bilingual in English and French.
